I know I’ve said it before, but do you ever feel like sometimes your brain just can’t comprehend some of the things you see? The World Race has allowed me so many opportunities for adventure and being out in God’s creation, and the amount of times I feel like my jaw has just dropped out of my head is, well, a LOT. I’ve seen amazing things in Africa, Asia, and South America, and my heart is so thankful for everything I’ve gotten to see and do this year.
As part of the World Race, we have 5 days a week of ministry, 1 Sabbath day, and 1 Adventure day. Why adventure on a mission trip? Aren’t you traveling the world to do ministry? Well, yes, the main focus of this trip is to participate in ministry and bring Jesus to the nations, but the intention of Sabbath is to spend an entire day actively sitting in the presence of God and resting, and the intention of Adventure day is to go do something wild! God wants us to have fun and enjoy his creation! Many of my Adventure days this year have involved me just being completely in awe of God’s creation and how big this world really is. Some people on the squad have also had the opportunity to meet people and share the gospel with them on Adventure days (tourist places are huge opportunities to meet fellow English speakers!) I think God has taught me a lot through ministry this year, but I also think he’s taught me a lot through Adventure days too.
I wanted to share some pictures of some of my favorite Adventure days I’ve had recently. At the end of Bolivia, we got to tour the Salt Falts in Uyuni. They were unlike anything I had ever seen and so beautiful!! No one but God could come up with something like that! And then just a week or so later, I had the opportunity to visit Machu Picchu! There’s a reason it’s one of the wonders of the world. SO INCREDIBLE!!
So enjoy the pictures, and go out and do something fun yourself! Enjoy God’s creation and sit in awe of how big and creative and amazing He really is!
