10:00PM, February 28th – I think to myself, this is a great month to only have 28 days … 2 hours until March … I can do this … Oh my goodness, the past three weeks have been easier to wait than these last two hours … Okay, distract myself with TV … show goes off at 11:30PM … time to do the dishes … no dishwasher, this will kill 30 minutes, I actually cooked real food tonight … dishes done … 11:45PM, really? Could my dishes not take longer tonight? Okay facebook … that will kill 15 minutes, real quick! 12:00 AM … breathe Jessica breathe … add “My Profileâ€� link back to the top bar on my Internet Explorer (desperate times called for desperate measures) … Log in, check! Hit the “Supportâ€� button … Oh no, Oh no, Oh no … It’s only been 25 days … I can’t do this … It’s just one click …I can’t do this … but I have to know … Hold on … Quick prayer … Whatever happens Lord, I praise you! Here goes nothing… breathe in, breathe out …
Okay that may have been a tad dramatic and exaggerated, okay not really, that’s pretty much how it went down … and yes, I did basically have a conversation with myself in my head. This is big stuff though … this is 11 Months … this is a $14,800 goal … and 25 days ago, I had less than $300 … (see the blog about that here) …
But let me tell you how GREAT and MIGHTY of a God I serve, and how amazing and blessed I am to have a wonderful mother and grandmother, especially, who are so supportive of my trip! Also, I am so blessed to have amazing family and friends that have blessed me with their donations this month. I do not take these gifts for granted, with your donations; I am going to be able to take the Gospel to people all over the world. I am so very excited to go out and truly grow into the woman God has called me to be!
With that being said … with monthly pledges that I know for sure (which means this number could actually be more) … and money donated to my account … I have not only met my FIRST support goal, but … I have exceeded that goal … Praise the Lord!!!
… drumroll please …
The Lord has provided me with donations and pledges totaling at least … $4,529.62!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which means … I have roughly $10,000 left to raise … and I know for a fact that my God has got this covered. He has provided me with amazing people in my life, who pray for me daily as I strive towards this goal and fabulous people who contribute so graciously to see the Kingdom of God expanded throughout the nations, and to see the hurting of this world shown love and compassion! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! As I strive to raise more money, we have been challenged by a fellow squadmate, Tommy Chapman, to give something up until we reach a certain goal … and for those of you who know me, I am a sweet tea junkie … a caffeine junkie for that matter… but as of Saturday I have given up caffeine until I reach $6000 donated/pledged! That is the number that will get me on that plane in August!
So all that’s left to say is … PRAISE THE LORD!
