Just a little update:
First, we are in Chaiyaphum, Thailand for the next 3 weeks. We arrived in Bangkok, Thailand for debrief on Sunday and we were scheduled to leave for our ministry sites on Thursday; however, because this is The World Race and our favorite word is “flexibility” we were told on Wednesday with an hour and a half notice to be packed up and ready to go by 2:30PM. My team caught a 6PM bus to Chaiyaphum, and arrived at 11PM and then got to the YWAM base around 12:15AM. Long day, but it’s beautiful here. The five ladies from Team TUFF will be serving together this month while our men are doing MANistry and working with some goats. We stay in a nice house/YWAM base where we all share a small room of mats on a floor. There’s room to spread out but we really want to be intentional with our relationships so we’ve chosen to get cozy in the same room while we’re here!
Ministry here has been kind of explained to us but due to the most difficult language barrier yet, we really won’t know what we’re doing until after we’ve done it. To the best of my understanding we will be going into the schools and teaching English and doing assemblies for the children, i.e. this afternoon we will be doing a Christmas program for 400 students with music, games, explaining what Christmas means, and whatever else we come up with!
How will we spend Christmas here? Good question. We begin the festivities this afternoon when we leave from the school to go on a four hour road trip in the bed of a truck to our contact’s brother’s Christmas party – we will stay there the night and leave to return here in the morning. Then we have tommorow off, and Sunday on actual Christmas we hear we have been invited to a church in the “big city” and we will spend Christmas day there. Then, January 6th we help do a Christmas/New Years party here so it will be a festive month here in Thailand!
Financially … I have one more deadline team! FEBRUARY 1st… I must be FULLY FUNDED! I have $3,660 left to raise and I need your support to stay on the field! Would you please bless me with monetary gifts to my Support Account this Christmas to help me continue serving the Nations? Your gifts are so appreciated and I am so grateful for all your support! Click here to donate!
If you can’t give financially (or even if you can) and you would still like to support me, I LOVE getting messages and comments on my blog!
With all that being said, I hope to keep you updated with what ministry looks like here and how God is working in my life along the way. I have another blog that will be posted soon on something really cool that God has been doing in me, but until then let’s just take you back to our time in the Philippines with a glimpse of our time with New Faith Children’s Home in Malaybalay; this video was made by my teammate Olivia Coward:
