This isn’t an easy mission trip. Reality is setting in and being here is hard. This is my real life now and it’s hard to believe that this is my life. This isn’t an easy life, but Jesus’ life wasn’t easy. Ministry isn’t easy. Life in Africa isn’t easy. But this work is rewarding. This work is necessary. This work is what the Lord has called me to do. In the good times and the bad, I am here to stick this out. I am learning so much about myself and so much about living in community on this trip.
Oh FYI, in Rwanda they actually have legit laws and they pretty much follow them. We have been staying at this amazing house and doing ministry in the morning and in the evening. We have westernized toilets again — three for three, cha-ching! And beds — cha-ching! In the mornings the next couple of weeks – Tuesday to Friday, we will be teaching English to the nursery school kids at Victory Church in Kabuga, this will be a time of loving on the kids and teaching them what they will need to know to succeed in the primary school. In the evenings, we do various ministries from baptism classes, to visiting secondary schools, to visiting other churches, to possibly preaching on the local radio, to teaching English. I’m not sure all the details of this month, but we are trying to finish well in Africa.
At the end of this month, our squad will be meeting outside of Kampala for a mini-debriefing and for the announcement of new teams. This will be my last month as part of LinC 10:10, because new Squad Leaders and Team Leaders will be raised up and teams will be shifted around for our new season of ministry. After mini-debriefing we will be boarding a Qatar flight to Thailand, exciting!
Africa has been an interesting experience, but I am so excited to be moving into the next season of this trip in Asia, I really have a heart for the ministry that we will be a part of in Asia, so I pray that you would support me this month financially to keep me from having to fly home at the end of the month. I need $3,500 to remain on this mission trip and it’s difficult to raise money from the field, but I have to trust in the Lord’s provision and your support to make this possible.
