3 Exciting things have happened this past week and I am thrilled to share them with you.
1. For the past week I have been in Atlanta, GA at the Adventures In Missions headquarters for training camp.

At this camp we went through intense spiritual and physical training. They were preparing us for the next nine months so they didn’t want to leave anything out. Every morning we would have to have our tents and backpacks packed up and ready to move locations. We worked out at 7am sharp and that was the only thing we could for sure expect. We were informed about every other activity about 1 hour before it happened. Sometimes sooner.
One of the days I got my pack taken away and I did not have anything with me except my bible and water. I had to share with my teammates and rely on them for my “survival.” It was an awesome experience because it really showed me how much I rely on material things. When I needed something from my pack, I had to go without and rely on The Lord to provide for me. And He was faithful. My teammates were eager to be generous with everything they had.
Each day was a different culture and at meal times we would do what they do. I loved Africa day the most because they had tribal music blaring all the time and it would always erupt into a dance party. The women had to serve the men and they would all sit at a table and we would sit on the floor. I quickly came to realize how much I love the guys on my team from this experience. Instead of them becoming entitled, they bent down to pray over us and thank us for our service to them. Their humility inspired us all week, and it all started with an act of service.
Aside from the food and activities, we also had intense spiritual training. The first three days were focused on developing ourselves and tapping into the power we have as the Body of Christ. We had sessions after sessions followed by debrief with our team. This really helped us to see who we are as individuals and as a team.
I am so blessed by this week and I can’t wait to serve Jesus with my teammates.
2. GUATEMALA, THAILAND, and BOTSWANA!
These are the countries that I will be going to! I am so excited to finally know and be able to do research on them. We will be spending 3 months in each country. I know many of you have been praying over these countries and I just want to say thank you. God is good and He has already gone before me and prepared the way for my team and I.
Speaking of my team, these are the people I will serve along side of for this time 🙂
I Love these guys and with this team God will do great things.
So this brings me to the last big thing……
3. T-Shirts are in!!!!
If you ordered a shirt they are in! If you are able to come by my house they will be there. Just shoot me a text 574-524-0136 and I will be more than happy to schedule a time. I also would love to sit and have coffee with you to tell you more about camp and just catch up with you. So if you are interested in that, let me know. I appreciate you so much for supporting me. This is an incredibly humbling experience for me and I want to show my thanks. I also can drop off your shirt if you live close to me.
And Lastly…
The Lord Has been so good and I am pumped to say that I am very close to being fully funded. But I am not quite there. I still have a good $600 to raise. So I need your help to boost me to being 100%. During the race I will also need money for monthly expenses. They say to budget about $100 a month. Many things come up and they would like us to make the most of this trip. If there is a chance to bungee jump over the Nile or ride and elephant I will have to pay for that myself. This $100 will also cover expenses like toiletries and other necessities that will rise up. If you would like to help out with this please let me know because this money will not be able to go into my online account.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and your support. I could not do this without you. I am excited for the journey ahead and I can’t wait to see you all soon.
Until next time,
Jessica
