When I first heard of the World Race, I thought it sounded amazing, like something right up my alley, and felt led to go someday. Then I wondered, “How in the world would I ever raise $16,243? That’s crazy!” I thought about how many people have been able to do it in the past, and that boosted my confidence a bit. So I went ahead and applied. I told myself that if God is leading me to go on this mission trip then He will also provide.

So I applied, got accepted, and here I am at the fundraising point of the trip, the preparation time, and I feel so incredibly overwhelmed by the amount of money that needs to be raised. I find myself already growing stressed and discouraged. Needless to say, I never realized how taxing this process would be. My journey has definitely already begun, and God is using this part to grow and expand my trust and faith in Him. Where I lack, He makes up for it a thousand times over, and I am so thankful for that.

The lesson that God is trying to teach me here is that I need to stand in faith and trust in Him to provide. We know that God shall supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus! He always has in the past, currently is, and will continue to do so. And by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, we are abundantly blessed. We are His beloved sons and daughters, His heirs. We are blessed so that we may go out into the world and be a blessing unto others!

A short testimony about God’s provision: I recently quit a part-time job I had because of various reasons. It was just time to go. I had not found a new job to replace it yet when I quit. This was quite a big leap of faith for me, especially since I need as much money as possible for the race. Well less than a week later, I got hired! Praise The Lord! Ask God for something and He will provide, and it will be even better than you expected. I even had multiple job offers to choose from!

You just have to wait upon The Lord and His timing. He loves us so much that He wants to bless us and see the very best things for us. When we ask Him for things, He is glad to give, and when we take from Him, He’s overjoyed. We are His children. He wants us to depend upon Him fully, to lean on Him, and trust Him. He says my burden is easy and my yoke is light. That is true, when we depend upon the Lord and we hand our situation over to Him and let go of our own works and pride. He will help you out, take care of you, and bless you. This trip is already changing my life in so many ways, all good, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of this year has in store. Even though I have a lot more money left to raise, and only five months until launch date. I know that God will provide and He has amazing plans for my squad and I. What a gracious and generous God we serve! I cannot wait to go out into the world, and share God’s amazing love and grace for us! Thank you Lord!

Much love and God bless,

Jessica
