Hi everyone! This is a quick update about what we’ve been doing. We do not have a lot of internet time or a strong connection here, so I will be posting pictures and a personalized recap of what God’s been doing this month sometime within the coming week.
Our location this month is in the village of Sielmat, within the city of Churachandpur, in the state of Manipur, in India. We are in a more remote area surrounded by the mountains. It is absolutely beautiful here!
We are working with the Hmar people who originated from China and then moved south to Myanmar, and then over the mountains to the Manipur region of India. There are 27 tribes here in this state. They all have their own tribal tongue and communicate with each other in Manipuri.
We are staying with Partnership Mission Society. They sponsor many different ministries such as: Trinity College and Seminary, NCCS schools, Sielmat Christian Hospital, etc. So our ministry this month involves: construction work at the hospital as they are expanding, working with the sponsorship office by preparing supplies which one of our teams is currently taking into the villages in the mountains, assisting at a children’s retreat with about 2,500 kids, putting on a VBS for local children, sharing short testimonies at church, helping our host out with kitchen duties, painting a new school building, teaching some of the seminary students, evangelizing at medical camps, building a church, etc.
We have been so spoiled this month, our whole squad is together which has been awesome and is allowing us all to bond closer to one another. We are staying in the guest rooms on the second floor of the seminary, and teams are taking turns every week with staying in these awesome bamboo huts. This week it is my team’s turn and we love the huts! They are so much fun. It is hard to believe that we only have one more week left in India. Next Monday, our squad will be heading to Kathmandu, Nepal for our official “all squad month” so we will all be together again!
Please keep us in your prayers as this month comes to a close. Pray that the seeds we planted, or watered would continue to grow, and bear lots of fruit. Pray for blessings for this awesome ministry and it’s impact in the state of Manipur. Pray that the kingdom would continue to grow like wildfire throughout this nation.
