So…I figured it's about that time where I need to get my needs for this trip known and let everyone know what they can do to pitch in if they are feeling led.
First of all, finances. I have to raise $15,500 for this trip. This will include basic needs over the next year..ie housing, food, and travel. There are a couple different ways you can give. If you want to give you can simply click support me on the left side of this page. There are instructions for various ways to donate. If you have questions, I will help answer any questions you may have. 🙂
Secondly, let's chat about fundraisers. I have several things I am doing and will be doing for a while. The first is necklaces. These are sweet necklaces. I will put a picture of them in "My Pics" on the left side of the page. They are $10 for 1, $18 for 2, and $25 for 3. Then I have Threads of Hope bracelets. These are cool because they are supporting two missions at once. Half of the procedes go to my missions account and the other goes to the families who made them in the Philipines. This keeps children out of sex slavery by providing a stable income. Pics of those to come as well. 🙂 Then we have shirts. They have Matthew 10:8 on them and well yeah…you will just have to see them so I will post a picture of them as well. 🙂 Those are $20 for 1, or $35 for 2.
Also on the fundraising aspect, if anyone has any ideas or wants to help, suggestions, hands, and brains are always welcome! 🙂
Third we have gear and supplies. I have some basic needs for this trip such as a pack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and other random items. I have my pack and sleeping bag but there is still a lot to get. I am registered at REI. If you go to that website, click gift registry and search for my name. The date of the event is December 2012. I leave in January but will obviously need my stuff before I can go. Also gift cards to different stores like Target or Walmart and REI or Cabela's are helpful so I can get some practical things I will need as well. Everything is always appreciated.
So finally…the last but by far the most important is prayer! I am living on prayers right now. I am standing firm in what God is calling me to do and as a result, our adversary isn't very happy. I'm positive that the wind will blow and there will be moments of straight up warfare so I ask that you join with me in prayer.
