I read a devotion that I get daily from Kim Potter with a New Thing Ministries. It rings true and it aligns with what's been in my heart and happening so I'm going to share it. Please take the time to read and pray about it…I'm sure it will bless.
I was talking with a friend on the phone about some of the things she was going through – she began to tell me how she had told God that she couldn't go through this particular battle again – that she simply couldn't survive it.
I gently reminded her that she is stronger than she realizes and she can make it through anything because the greater one lives in us – we are overcomers.
As we were talking God reminded me of how I had been feeling this week; I have felt like we are in a time of transition – but it feels like we are in the exact time when the caterpillar is attempting to break out of the cocoon. I shared this with my friend and she said it sounded right to her as well.
We continued to talk and God dropped a question in my spirit; how many caterpillars do you think survive the transition? I had never thought about that so I shared that question with my friend. She shared with me a time when there were hundreds of cocoons at her sister's house. They watched for a few weeks to see all the beautiful butterflies come out – however, after watching for all that time she said only about 2% survived and became butterflies.
As she shared that with me I thought 'that can't be right.' Therefore I did some research online and found that it is even worse than that – according to research less than 1% of the caterpillars survive and make it out of the cocoon. Less than one percent ever break out and fly and become what they were destined to be.
Matthew 7:14 says narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
This is saying the same thing – only few find the Zoe life of God – the absolute fullness of life. Most never break out of the cocoon of wrong thinking, strongholds, fears and so much more…most never break out but that does not mean that you have to be one of those.
Remember, it was a small percentage of the children of Israel that entered into the Promised Land…but some did enter. The Bible says what seems impossible with man is POSSIBLE with God – you can transition from a caterpillar to a butterfly and become all God has destined you to be. Keep pressing forward; keep working on breaking out – DON'T GIVE UP NOW.
I also read that when a caterpillar dies, the cocoon will start falling apart as well. If you give up now and never reach your destiny, it will not only affect you but everything that surrounds you – keep fighting your way out. There is no defeat in God; therefore there is no defeat in you.
Friends, it is transition time, breaking out time, and time to fly. Don't be one of the 99%, be one of the 1% and fly, break out and fly – it's your time.
