My mom always says the verse in Hebrews, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” when I am fretting about any kind of need I have in my life. So this is me going boldly before the throne and stating what I need for my World Race mission and to update you guys on how God is providing.
First of all, I really need your prayers for this weekend. I have 3 different events planned for this weekend, all of which I have been working towards all year. Here they are in order:
Chick-fil-A Percentage Night in Hiram, GA
Thursday, April 22nd, from 5-8
10 percent of all sales during that time period will go directly to my support raising! A few musicians from my church and some friends have agreed to play and sing some worship tunes to bring people in! Gregg Sizemore, Phil Burns, and Debra Black are a few of the lot that graciously agreed to sing. ***I especially need prayer that at least 100 people will come. That is Chick-fil-A’s requirement for you to be able to host a percentage night. Last time I had 132 people come, so the Lord totally provided! I’m confident that He will again.***
Holy Water Luau in Young Harris, GA
Friday, April 23rd, at 5:00 p.m.
When I attended Young Harris, I was the sweetheart of the Christian fraternity, Alpha Omega. Every year they host a huge luau where they roast a huge pig and the entire campus comes out for the event. While I didn’t help plan this event, the guys have decided to donate 50% of what they make to the Race!!! When the president told me this, I literally cried!! I still can’t even believe how generous they are being with their hard-earning money. God is good!! All the time!!;) ***Please pray that is doesn’t rain, we have a good turn out, and that the guys are blessed by the event!
Speaking at Stewart Avenue United Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA
Sunday, April 25th, at 11:00 a.m.
One of my dear friends, Elizabeth, has been a TREMENDOUS instrument in helping me with anything she can this year, in regards to support raising. He sweet father has invited me to come speak at his church this Sunday to raise support! They are an awesome family and I am so honored to be able to be a part of that service! ***Please pray that the congregation’s mind and heart will be open to hearing about the need for the Lord around the world.
Rockin’ Benefit Concert, Athens, GA
My friend Neely and I have been planning this concert since last fall! Some incredible Athens-area musicians have agreed to play in this sweet venue in downtown Athens called “Cine”. The performers include: Paul Smith, Dustin Sosbee, Kristen Stephens, Jacob Hawk, Ben Morrison, Neely Shell, Hunter Smith, and Athens-band ‘Teal Vox’. A good friend of mine (Amanda Henke) is an incredibly talented painter and has also agreed to donate a few of her paintings to the event that we can auction off. I am so excited about showcasing her amazing work and having it go towards the Race!! My sweet friend Ashley has also agreed to knit some scarf to auction off as well!! God is good! And my friends are amazing! ***PLEASE pray for this event!!! I’m shooting for 150 people to come and this is my last big event to raise support. Please pray that the Lord is present and that HIS will is done!! I need Him in it for it to be successful!
Well, as you can see, I’ve got a pretty busy weekend ahead! Am I’m going boldly before the Lord and asking him to bless me and fulfill my needs. For His glory!
