Hey Friends!

Well, first of all, I am tremendously excited that the Lord has called me to be a part of this incredible mission. I know it is going to be amazing!

A little bit about me…

I was born and raised in the beautiful American suburbs of Marietta, GA, with my parents, two younger brothers, and a slew of different kinds of dogs. Right now, we have a miniature schnauzer and a big white pointer…we think (he’s a muttJ).

I have always loved meeting people and hearing about their individual stories. I think it is fascinating how a person’s story has shaped them into the person they are today.

Music has always been a huge part of my life; I love to sing and play the piano, and hopefully one day I will sit down and learn to play the guitar…we will see 😉

When I graduated high school, I headed off to a tiny junior college in the north Georgia Mountains called Young Harris.  I studied piano and voice, traveled in two different singing groups, and made myself plenty busy by being involved with several different social and religious organizations.

After Young Harris, I transferred to the fabulous University of Georgia where I studied public relations and Spanish. I was involved with the campus ministry “Campus Christian Fellowship” (CCF) and sang in UGA’s jazz band.

Did I mention that I LOVE to travel? Because it is a huge passion I have. While I was at UGA, I had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala on a medical mission trip with a friend’s church. I helped translate and played with the children who lived in the village where we worked. It was such an incredible experience! I have never in my life met so many people who had so little earthly possessions but were filled with so much joy.

After that summer, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Salamanca, Spain, where I worked with a college ministry through CCF. It was incredible to experience the Spanish culture and see how God is moving in a Godless world. God has definitely used these experiences to fuel my passion for international mission.

I am now 23 years old and have recently graduated from UGA (Go DAWGS!). I am currently a media relations intern with the
non-profit project Operation Christmas Child under Samaritan’s Purse. I LOVE my job! The internship is over Dec. 23rd and then its off to my next big adventure…World Race!!!!
