wednesday…

so tuesday night when seth and three of his friends arrived, they met with us briefly about finding a car on wednesday.  we were encouraged to ask God specifically to direct us to what He had planned.  we all went to sleep on tuesday in prayer over where we needed to go on wednesday for a vehicle.  one girl on our team, jessica, had a dream that we were standing next to an orange bus, and then another clip was we were eating oranges.  so, she told us this wednesday morning and i’m thinking to myself…an orange van?  haha.  right.  i don’t think i can say i’ve ever seen one, and the closet thing was a school bus.  so after some more morning training on team conflicts, and other important issues…we set out to find a vehicle.

we are driving down international highway in brownsville, tx and kristin (another girl on our team) shouts out…”hey guys…there is an orange van in that parking lot.”  what?  are you kidding?  hehe.  so immediately we pull into this gas station next door and go jump out to take a look.  the van is in our price range, but is more a utilities van without seats.  we are kind of browsing around the lot and find this ’85 suburban.  oh ya.  🙂  we checked it out…three long seats plus decent size storage in the back.  has plates!  has a title!  awesome!  we had to wait for the owner to get there and made a deal with him.  our budget we did not want to go over was $2000 total.  the total on the van was $1728 including title.  all we need is insurance which will still keep us under our budget.  it was so amazing how God put that orange van as a red flag for us to stop at this dealership.  we even had a mechanic come over and check it out for us, test drove it and all.  so jessica is heading back today to finalize the details.  God IS faithful!

now we will be doing some ministry and training the next day or so and we head out on sunday morning for south mexico.  we are racing to porte de veracruz and then to south mexico.  i’ll keep you updated on whats going on in matamoros and how the journey is going to go.  (please pray we find out way!!)

I’m so grateful for all the ways we are learning to grow as a team and more importantly a family.  Each day requires complete surrender to the Lord to fully carry out His will in our lives.  I pray you are all blessed in your comings and goings and will continue to keep you all in my prayers.  All my love…
