the past two days details are on the brown teams link. (click on the world race home…then brown team. they are well worth reading!)

im just going to give you the overview of today.
so you know how a lot of times when you re-read scripture, a certain verse may have a different or more direct meaning to what is going on in your life? well, today i learned a whole new meaning to “with God, all things are possible.” let me explain…
first off, i need to mention…WE MADE IT TO THE TOP OF THE VOLCANO!!! ok, now i can express how incredibly hard it was. no wait, it was literally impossible for humans to attempt. and i am confident, it was only because i prayed the whole climb that i made it up. we started up at about 9am. we had a tour guide take us, and topped it off at 4 hours. i think it took us like 2 hours to get down. anyways…this trail was nothing like i thought. maybe naive? but i figured something kind of windy, pretty smooth, with some tough climbs. HA. who was i kidding? this little adventure was vertical torture. stright up. we just finished a little bit ago, and my legs are still shaking. i know i have to sound pathetic to the average mountain climber, but there really arent even any words that express how difficult it was. i dont think you could pay me $1000 to climb it again. ok…enough about that, because the view was absolutely incredible from the top. it overlooked lake atitlan, along with tons of mountains and cities. gorgeous 🙂 i tried to whistle for a helicopter to take us back down, but no luck 😮

we were about a 1/3 from the bottom and my memory card on my camera was full. i was clicking around in my settings and came to “format card” i clicked “ok” thinking it would take me to another option. nope. deleted EVERYTHING. all the pictures i had just taken from the top, actually everything form our whole trip was on there. such a bummer. i knew kim had downloaded almost all my pictures onto her computer so i was a little relieved knowing i could still retrieve them. we made it back and caught up with kim and laura a bit who had stayed behind today. i was telling kim about my stupid mistake and so she went to go get her computer to see what she had on there. she had put her laptop in the car because our rooms didnt lock, and they were leaving the church. i crashed on the bed and was waiting for her to come back in. within minutes she frantically runs back into the room. someone had stolen her laptop out of the car! we are parked behind the church too in this gated area, but i guess there were a lot of people coming in and out today. paul comes over and gets his wallet out of the glove compartment. someone took his money too. we had it all locked. but there was a little side window by the rear view mirror on the drivers side that was open. satan is definitely trying to attack us in many ways, but we will not let this continue! please be in prayer with us as we fight off this crap!
tomorrow we are heading back over to the little island where all the rest of the teams are staying in hotels. we will be with the south africans also and spending a little time with them. it will be nice to get to know them a little better! we have also contacted a pastor in a city called antigua. he is offering to let us sleep on the floor for free in his coffee shop and work in the orphanges and hospitals near him! we are praying about heading his way!
i love you all and will continue to post on what is happening here in guatemala…

God is faithful…and we are holding His promises very closely!
