Is Jesus Enough for you?

tonight our team sat around and discussed this simple, yet incredibly deep question.  we reflected back on our weeks and how we were all doing.  although we have had so many spiritual attacks, Paul really encouraged us through Romans 8 and the greater reward we have awaiting us.  despite all the money and possessions we have had taken from us, we were reminded of His eternal love.  the earthly possessions that we hold onto so tightly will only burn, and we have to remember what is truly important.

this really hits home when we visit the people in the hospital, and knowing they will probably spend the rest of their lives in that single room.  in that same wheelchair.  with only a few visitors every now and then.  i pray for complete healing on each and every one of them, but sometimes God has other plans.  and is He enough?  or are you constantly desiring more of what the world has to offer?  these chair ridden people are so innocent and loving.  they find joy in hearing the voice of another.  they only dream of the chance to walk.  and yet, this is a great opportunity for me to re-evaluate my own selfish desires.

today, friske, kim, and i took a little boy named melvin to get ice cream.  melvin is not in a wheelchair but has casts on both legs.  he is the happiest, brightest little boy.  my favorite part of being with the kids is seeing their face light up when they know you are taking them outside.  its priceless!

when we got back from visiting the kids, we picked up abner and then all walked up to the cross.  its just a little hike across town and then a itty bitty climb up a hill (and everything is tiny now compared to the massive volcano!)  we saw the most beautiful view.  it was all of antigua and then in the background was another volcano named agua.  we just laid up there and talked for a bit.  had a little prayer time and then headed back for our bible study.

great day.  great friends.  great God.  and amazing family and supporters back home.  i love and miss you all very much!!
