the title is irrelevant. its just late, and im exhausted. ๐
here we are…in antigua, guatemala. it was a rough few days, but we are finding joy in every obstacle! we have had a nice relaxing two days and im pumped to begin ministry. we arrived at the Higher Ground coffee shop on monday. this place is our dream come true! the coffee shop is similar to the many at home, and has an adjacent room filled with Christian books and couches. through the doors in the back, you enter into a large room where church services are held. tuesday nights they have prayer meetings. thursday nights are english services. ๐ friday nights are movie nights. and sundays include church and bible study. its amazing to me that God has blessed us with such a place! each day we will be able to journey off and minister in the orphanages, hospitals, and local dumps…and even join in fellowship at night with other believers!
today we walked around the city with abner. he is the guy who has so generously allowed us to crash on the floor in his business. we stopped at the hospital to get information on how to volunteer and see what their needs were. we were told you can come on monday and wednesday mornings to register and then they will place you in different areas.

we also received the contact information of a guy who goes to the dump every thursday to minister to the people who live there. i think we are going to try and get a hold of him tomorrow.
there are also two orphanages in this city, along with a womans prison. please pray for us to be directed to the right place.
in the meantime, we have been enjoying a few competitive games of “slaps” (cards) and listening to abner and his friend eric jam on their guitars. they are a part of the worship band and so we think they need to practice all week long ๐ (for our entertainment of course!)

if anyone is interested in reading through the Bible in a year with me…i am going to post the schedule (hopefully tomorrow). i challenge you to join in if you have never done this…and even if you have – then we need your wisdom and insight! brush off the dust and dig deeper with us…
prayer: out of Job chapter 1…
Ask the Lord to help you become a man/woman who is “blameless, full of integrity, fears God, and shuns evil.”
another scripture I got for this week…
“If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.” Isaiah 7:9
