Hey friends and readers!
Right now I’m in Lira, Uganda, and I need your help!
There is a serious deadline for fundraising approaching, and right now I’m about $1,400 behind, which has to be in my October 31st. But I know that the Lord is absolutely in control, and He has paved the way for me to be here… so this is your chance to get involved in this ministry!
This month we are partnering with an organization called Victory Outreach Ministries. They have more than 10 different ministry departments– everything from agriculture to clean water to HIV/AIDS support. There is even a Compassion International project! We arrived last week, so we have been getting acquainted with the different ministries and trying to figure out where we can be the most effective/where they need the most help.
On Friday, we got to go to a PHA meeting (People with HIV/AIDS). The meeting was entirely made up of women and children. I spent most of the time before and after the meeting playing with the daughter of one of the women, only to find out later that she was there because she too is HIV positive. I really thought she was just there with her mom. But, despite the disease, despite the awful stereotypes and stigmas placed on them, despite the abandonment they have felt, these women had more joy than anyone we’ve met before. They welcomed us in with hugs and cheers, and they ended their meeting with just wild praise and worship and dancing. They are not defined by this disease. They are defined as daughters of the King, and they worship Him every second of every day. I cannot wait to get to know them more.
I’m telling you guys this because this is your ministry too. Some of you have already supported me at the beginning, and so this is just as much your ministry as it is mine. And I need your help for it to continue. You guys are my friends and family, and I would love for you to join me in this. And I need you desperately!

The rest of our funds are due in December, which means that, total, I need right about $5,000 in three months. So if you want to avoid another one of these blogs in a couple months ( :D) you could become a monthly supporter! And it would only be three months and then you’re done! Seriously, that would be absolutely amazing.
