The last week in Ireland was the Awakening! All the World Race teams from around the world gathered in Clondalkin, Ireland for a few days of worship, teaching, fellowship, and a ridiculous dance contest.
I am so incredibly thankful we had the Awakening before we headed out to Africa. We got to experience some absolutely crazy worship with Jonathan David Helser, and some wonderful teaching. And it was great to get to talk to squads who had just finished with their months in Africa so they could share their wisdom and experience.
After the Awakening we had our squad debrief. One of the first things that happened was a massive team change– and I am so sad to say, that Lovesick514 is no more.
We knew a few days beforehand that this was probably going to happen, so thankfully I had a few days to prepare my heart. But for those few days, I was a wreck. My team had absolutely become my family– they were my comfort and encouragement in a way I never would have imagined. It was really hard for me to imagine doing the rest of the race without them. BUT thankfully, I have an amazing squad, so my new team is wonderful. There are some people who I don’t really know that well, but I am definitely looking forward to getting to know them!
