This month, the World Race is celebrating men in ministry. This blog is dedicated to celebrating my brothers in Christ from Team Adelphoi – Isaiah Fogle and Zachary Larson.

Like Noah …

Zachary and Isaiah are righteous men. They love God with all of their hearts and are fully committed to obedience. I can’t imagine what it’s like for them being on a team with five women but, I am humbled by their patience and selflessness.

“ … Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” Genesis 6:9

Like Abraham …

Zachary and Isaiah demonstrate extraordinary faith, trusting the will of God. I highly respect them for being courageous and embarking on this year-long journey of love – serving God’s people.

“Then the angel of the Lord called again to Abraham from heaven. ‘This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you …’” Genesis 22:15-17

Like Joseph …

Zachary and Isaiah have had setbacks in life but, through those experiences have learned humility and wisdom. They continue to exercise the power of forgiveness and the power of love.

“But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:19-20

Like Moses …

Zachary and Isaiah have great faith in God. They are constantly diving deeper into God’s word and seek an intimate relationship with The Lord. Yes! These men talk with God regularly and boldly share the Word of The Lord.

“And Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.’’” Exodus 14:13

Like Samuel …

Zachary and Isaiah love God! Their first loyalty is to God, regardless of what people think of them. These men are confident in their skin and when God speaks to them, they listen!

“ … The LORD came and stood there, calling out as before: ‘Samuel, Samuel!’ Samuel answered, ‘Speak, for your servant is listening.’” 1 Samuel 3:9-10

Like David …

Zachary and Isaiah are men after God’s own heart. They love God deeply and are loyal to the ways of The Lord.

“Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.” Psalm 86:11 (A Prayer of David)

Like Gideon …

Zachary and Isaiah are mighty men of valor. They are natural born leaders and testify to God accomplishing great things in their lives by following His guidance.

“When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, ‘The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.’” Judges 6:12

Like Solomon …

Zachary and Isaiah possess great wisdom. They are great listeners and offer sound, Godly counsel.

“It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this. And God said to him, ‘Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.’” 1 Kings 3:10-12

Zachary and Isaiah,

I am proud to know you. I celebrate you for being Godly men and for laying down your lives in service to others. This month, almost every morning, you have served us ladies by fixing pancakes – making sure that none of us did construction on an empty stomach! You have walked with us, making sure to be on the outside of the sidewalk. You have stepped back in line countless times so that we may be served first. You have prayed over us, listened to us, talked with us, walked with us and listened to us some more! You are incredibly strong men of God and though you are imperfect, you recognize your mistakes and turn your way back to God.

Like Jesus, you show love for humankind, have sacrificed much, are humble and are devoted to God. And for that we celebrate YOU!

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
