“On your mark, get set, go,” is a three-command phrase we’ve all heard before, usually heard at the start of a race.
When racers hear the announcer call out, “On Your Mark,” they get in their lane or spot. After the announcer says, “Get Set,” racers get into their starting positions. And when they hear the announcer say “Go,” they take off!
Next to the finish, it’s one of the most exciting times of a race as anticipation levels are high.
On Sunday, when I arrived to Atlanta for the World Race launch, I was on my mark. I made it safe and sound despite snowstorms and negative degree temperatures we experienced across the States.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, as I said goodbye to my parents through tear-filled eyes and sat through more informative training sessions, I got set.
Today, I go!
I feel so many different emotions as I start this Race. At times I’m as nervous as a rabbit. Other times I’m happier than a camel on hump day! Right now, in this very moment I feel content and comforted. Content knowing I’m exactly where God wants me to be and comforted, knowing that before He knitted me in my mother’s womb, He knew this day would come and all I would go through to get to this mark.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 NIV
I decided that my word for 2014 is “Go!” because wherever The Lord sends me that’s where I want to go.
Will you join me for the ride?
