At the end of May, after the month of ministry in Thailand, our squad gathered together in Chiang Mai for a few days of leadership development. It's a time for us to rest and be rejuvenated before heading to a new country and a new ministry.
On one of the days, I had the honor leading our morning devotion.
Weeks before, when I was asked to do this, I prayed that God would direct me on what He wanted to speak about. He impressed upon me to talk about His names and why it is important to know and study them.
One of the names of God that I love the most is "I Am."
In Exodus 3:14, God said to Moses,
"I Am Who I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you.
In my opinion, the way God describes himself in this verse is the epitome of swagger!
"I Am Who I Am."
What's even more mind blowing is that the I Am God lives inside of me and you.
Our squad's dad, who I fondly call "Papa Gary," shared an affirmation with our squad a few months back and I haven't forgotten it since.
"I am who I am because I Am lives in me."
Whenever you are facing fear, whenever there is doubt, remember – You are who you are because the epitome of swagger lives inside of you and His name is I Am!
For your listening pleasure, here is the audio recording of the devotion.
Enjoy!
