“He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.”
Psalm 145:19
I love that the psalmist said, “He fulfills,” present tense. I’ve been thinking about my desire to get married a lot lately. It’s one of the biggest desires of my heart. It’s neat to think that He’s fulfilling that RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW is a part of the process. I can’t jump or skip ahead to the next step because I would miss critical growth that He wants me to experience right now. He knows that I desire a God-honoring marriage and family. I believe that He is continuing to refine me for that – for a marriage that reflects the gospel and the character of God. So this part RIGHT NOW is a part of His fulfillment of the desires that He’s placed inside of me. I believe that He’s preparing my future husband as well. He’s preparing both of us – for our good, the good of our family and for His Kingdom’s glory. That is so awesome. God IS so good to me. The Word is full of His promises and His faithfulness.
Knowing all of this encourages me to live life to the fullest RIGHT NOW. He has strategically placed me exactly where I am at this moment. I’m not just sitting around waiting. I’m done with that. I’ve wasted too much time and energy on that in the past. God’s showing me that there’s this sweet place of rest that we can enter into as His sons and daughters that allows us to be content in the moment, resting in Him, but also dreaming big with the God-honoring desires He’s placed in us.
Be present in the moment. Savor it. Take it in. Rest in His sovereignty and goodness. He is faithful to all He has promised, and His timing is impeccable. Don’t waste a second of what He has trusted you with RIGHT NOW.
“Life is wasted when we do not live for the glory of God. And I mean all of life. It is all for His glory.”
John Piper, Don’t Waste Your Life
"The LORD is faithful to all His promises and loving towards all He has made.”
