“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon
the earth.

Job 19:25

I was struck by the
beauty that has come out of the ashes in Rwanda. You would never know that a
gruesome genocide happened only 18 years ago.
God has and is continuing to restore this small country. The love and
forgiveness that these people show and live out of is incredible.  Almost every adult that you meet has a story.  They don’t often share their stories because
of that; their neighbor’s story may be even more harrowing than their own.  They continue on, raising their families
remembering what has happened so that history doesn’t repeat itself but also to
push beyond and create a better future for Rwandans.  I just can’t describe to you how Rwanda and
her people have touched my heart.  It has
a unique place in my soul forever.

The month I was in
Rwanda was a time of teaching English to 3 – 6 year olds, helping the teachers
with their English, speaking in church and going on home visits.  Kigali is a very Westernized city so it felt
a bit more like the US which was nice.  All
but one of our teams was in the Kigali area so we had some sweet times meeting
up with our fellow squadmates and fellowshipping.  Our team began to take some big steps forward
in terms of unity and actual friendship.
Those Rwandan rain storms create a great environment for team togetherness.  🙂

I was sad to leave
the family that we lived with for the month.
Sylvie (Mamma) is a jewel and loved us so well while we were under her
care.  I’ll never forget her smile or her
story of survival.  The testimony that
Jesus has given her is absolutely amazing.
If you haven’t read it, please go back a few blogs and do so.

Thank you to everyone
who has/is supporting me on this crazy trip.
I guarantee you that I could never do it alone.  You are all just as much a part of this as I
am through your prayers, encouragement and financial support.  God is using you mightily for His Kingdom in
ways that you could never begin to imagine and may never know until we get to
heaven.  Thanks again!

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name; make known among the
nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the
LORD, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.
