I can hardly believe it's already November! These past few months have just flown by.
As I look at the calendar, I realize that my goal is to be on a plane to Malaysia in almost exactly 2 months. How did it sneak up on me like that?!
I just wanted to update everyone on what's been happening and what needs to happen this month in order for me to make the move in January.
It looks like my housing arrangement is about to come together. I'm super excited about that! If everything goes according to plan, I'll be moving in with another girl that's involved with PenHOP and will be signing a one year lease. I've never done anything like that, but I'm looking forward to it. It's a very nice house beside someone else that is full time PenHOP staff. It's roomy and fully furnished for an excellent price. God has really blessed me with this opportunity so I'm hoping that it all works out.
I'm currently at about 45% for my monthly goal and about 30% for my start-up goal financially.
I need to be 90% fundraised in order to buy a ticket to Malaysia so my goal is to actually be fully funded by the end of November. I believe it can happen!
This process of being called to missions and then getting ready to go has been refining to say the least. A friend asked me yesterday how I was feeling about it, and I said "I'm experiencing about every emotion imaginable." Joy, peace, excitement, fear, pain and heartache just to name a few. It's a bit of a rollercoaster and reality is settling in fast.
I'm realizing more and more just how much I can't do this alone on any level. I need prayer warriors. I need accountability. I need encouragement. I need a team. I need to share this journey with others.
So I invite you to prayerfully consider being a part of this journey.
I truly don't know what the Lord has in store. But I do know that He has clearly spoken.
I also know that only 9.2% of the people in Malaysia claim to be Christians, and I do know that I have the Hope of the nations and the Light of the world living in me and that the next step in my walk with Jesus is be a part of what the Lord is already doing in Malaysia through PenHOP.
I'm excited to step out and see what God has waiting! He always does something unexpected amazing.

Monthly Support: $1,200 – goes to rent, utilities, food, clothing, toiletries, phone bill, gas, visa runs and various living/ministry expenses.
Start-Up Expenses: $1,100 for a plane ticket to Malaysia, $3,000 for a car (necessity according to an American missionary already living there), $900 for insurance for the year, $500 for my 1st visa run (I'll have to have proof of exiting the country within 3 months upon arrival in Malaysia – I'll be on a 3 month tourist visa), $2,000 for a return/round-trip ticket home for possibly Thanksgiving/Christmas 2014.
