This month is a complete 180 from last month. We had a pretty cushy first month with Wi-Fi in our house, hot showers, a kitchen to cook in, and a 5 minute taxi ride into the city. This month we find ourselves in the poorest country in Europe in a little town called Cornesti. It’s fall here so the weather is turning cold. The apartment that I’m staying in has no heat or running water. I’ve found out that my sleeping bag + my liner = warmness! We also have 3 meals a day cooked for us by some wonderfully sweet women.

Katie caught a chicken!
We are working with a young pastor of the local church. He has a big vision: 30 churches in 30 years. In a country where about ½ of the population has immigrated out in the past 10 years and is #1 in human trafficking, there’s not much hope to be found here. The people are steeped in the Orthodox Church and the traditions there. In spite of all of the trials our contact has a huge heart for the Moldovan people, and his passion is contagious. His ministries help fight human trafficking and try to bring the community to Christ. There is a shelter where orphans are provided housing and a farm that provides food and income. We have the honor of working closely and living with these wonderful people.
My team is with 2 other amazing teams this month, Perisseuo and WALDO. It has been wonderful and encouraging to get to know them more and more. God is growing our WR community to look more like Him every day. The process isn’t always easy or fun, but it’s SO GOOD.

The Farmhouse
I’m not gonna lie, my 1st day of ministry here was the 1st day of the Race that I would have rather been back home in the States. I was cold. I was working outside on the farm. At different points it rained and once it hailed. I found myselfpicking gourds and pulling up the plants off of the side of the hill on the farm. Later my task was cleaning out the “beaver” home. Yes, that’s right, beavers. (We’ve actually found out that they are really muskrats.)
I know that I am here for a reason. Do I know exactly what that is? I can think of several possibilities, but I may never know for sure. That’s okay because God knows.

The "Beavers"
All of that said, this place is very spiritually dark. The warfare is real even if we can’t see it or don’t even recognize it for what it is all of the time. Please join in and pray for our teams as we shine the light of Jesus all over this small country and spread the Hope of the nations to a hopeless people.
"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16b
