I can't believe that it's already October!  Where in the world did September go?!?!

I only have about 7 weeks to work at Adventures in mission.  It's so crazy and bittersweet to think about.

My one year anniversary of living in Gainesville is coming up this week actually.  It'll be my first time in 3 years to live somewhere longer than 11 months!

Anyways, I need to get moving.  I might even say not hesitate (get it), to grab some great opportunities that have recently been presented to me.

Here are some of the top things on my list right now:

  1. Commit to going in January by buying a plane ticket
  2. Commit to a one-year lease on a place to live
  3. Commit to buying a vehicle
  4. Get fully funded!

I have been gleaning a lot of helpful information about how to go about moving to Malaysia as a full-time missionary.  There is an American missionary named named Naomi that has been with there with PenHOP for about a year and half now, and she is helping me with some preparations and answering lots of my questions.  Praise the Lamb!

Naomi lives with another wonderful woman who's PenHOP staff in a lovely house that they're renting for a very good deal.  It's a friend-of-a-friend type deal, and they're getting it at such a great price because they're missionaries.  Naomi is actually planning on moving in January and her housemate needs a new roomie in order to keep the place. I would love to be that girl!

I've been thinking about what my transportation will look like, and Naomi has made some strong recommendations based on her experience there.

Here's what she wrote to me in one of her emails:

Transport: ??? – Honestly, I strongly recommend that you're going to
need to buy a car – I was determined to just get around using the bus
but after 2 months I realized it's really not practical – the bus is
often late and takes twice as long to go somewhere – from where I live
to PenHOP -in a car 20 min – on the bus sometimes almost an hour and a
half! I bought a very good second hand car for $3000 which was quite
an expense but honestly – like I said – I just don't think you can do
it without it. So if you have a car – that's another $100 a month for
gas.

As I'm budgeting for support, I'm adding the purchase of a car to my start-up costs.  I may have the opportunity to purchase Naomi's car from her, but she needs to know very soon if I'm for sure coming and wanting to buy her car.

I am praying for the Lord to provide more monthly supporters and very quickly.  I need monthly supporters to be able to ensure that I'll be able to pay for rent and gas money and food.

I also need some one-time gifts to cover my start-up costs which include plane tickets, a vehicle and moving costs.

Please pray about joining my financial support team.  Right now I'm about 27% fundraised for my monthly goal.  I want to be at 50% by this Friday.  This means that if 15 people commit to giving $20 a month OR if 6 people commit to giving $50 a month, we'll be at that 50% goal!

I need the finances to come in so that I can make the necessary steps to moving to Malaysia as a full-time missionary.  I can't do it alone.  I need a team.  I already have several who have joined in this mission to be a light in a very dark country.

I'm excited to see who the Lord's going to touch to be a part of this mission!
