"In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them and they will be discarded. But You remain the same and your years will never end."
Psalm 102: 25:27
There have been some changes in my team this month, and I wanted to give y’all an update on that to keep you in the loop. My former team, Anchors of Hope, had 2 members go back home to the US halfway through this month in Moldova. They were at peace with the Lord about taking this next step and though it was sad, we wanted to support them in whatever the Lord’s calling them to. So we walked through that process with them and then took the next step forward. With 2 teammates gone we were no longer Anchors of Hope. We needed a new team name for our “new” team.
After much deliberation and a LOT of help from Radiant Change from U Squad (Y’all are UH-mazing!!), we finally emerged as Port Jubilee! A port is a place along a coast in which ships can take refuge from storms; it's a harbor, a safe place. The Year of Jubilee was a celebration that happened once every 50 years. Slaves were set free. Land that had been sold went back to its original owner. Because of this no Israelite could permanently be in slavery or permanently lose their inheritance. It was a special time of restoration. The word jubilee also brings to mind jubilation, a celebration! We as a team desire to be a place of safety, a refuge. We're thankful that our debts have been canceled because of Christ's blood and are celebrating the restoration that He's continually bringing in our lives!
Considering our new team name one of our squad leaders, Christy, got this vision for us:
“At first I saw a box…a square…with 4 corners – but all as one unit, seamless.
You are like the 4 winds.
North, South, East and West
Burton is like the North – steady – strong, enduring hard elements, but bringing a strength and comfort and power.
Shay is like the South – radiant with light and warmth. She's like a haven for rest and just glows.
Jessica is like the West – wild – like a wilderness – exploration, and I saw a grain field ripe for the harvest.
Rachel is like the East – Jesus comes through the east gate. I saw the image of a palace with purple roof. Royalty. The Spirit.
Together you are all complete, like a compass, bringing direction – and strength to people around you. SEAMLESS!!!!!! "
I thought that was a pretty cool picture and wanted to share with y’all.
Things are almost constantly changing, but our God is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Seeking after Him,
~ Jessica ~
