Dear Tanzania,
You have a special place in my heart forever. I’ve seen the Holy Spirit move in new, crazy
ways that I’ve never experienced before.
I’m leaving you knowing that I’ve left in my wake a blazing fire from
Jesus. God’s Spirit lit the flame in me
and made you ready to catch the sparks.
You are ripe for a rich harvest. You are a very religious country and are
seeking truth, but so often you are left empty by the hopelessness that just having
a religion offers. Don’t settle for religiosity!! There is so much more for you! Don’t you see that Jesus is holding out His
hand to you? He desires a deep and
intimate relationship with you. He longs
for you to have this freedom and peace that is waiting. Reach out to Him. Don’t worry; He’ll pick you up.
I do see that many in your country are throwing off the old
and coming into the newness that Jesus offers, and it is so exciting! Your people are hungry, and Jesus is filling
them. I’ve seen your people abandon
themselves in worship, not caring what people around them think. You’ve opened my eyes! You’ve shown me what a true celebration of
God’s love can look like! I thank God
for the time that He’s allowed me to spend with you. I’ll remember it always. I never want to forget all the “little�
experiences, like receiving a conga from a local pastor, getting earrings as a
gift, hearing the waves on Lake Victoria and feeling the cool breeze, being
crammed on a dala dala, being call a Mzungu about a million times a day,
sweating almost continually, riding a motorcycle for the first time to a beautiful beach and eating the most delicious pineapple. It’s definitely been a crazy ride!
God has revived me here in your country. He’s renewed my passion for the precious
gospel, increased my faith and done so many things in my heart that I don’t
fully understand yet. Again and I thank you. I leave you with my heart full and ready to
go the next leg of this Race.
