Hello Friends,
It is hard to believe that this month is already coming to an end. It is also crazy to think that I will be embarking on month 6 of the World Race! It has been such an amazing month and I will be sad to see it go. It has been a month full of high and lows, challenges and victories.
Ministry
This month my team was working with Covenant Worship at the Covenant School of Worship in Hyderabad. We had the pleasure of doing slum ministry, participating in church services, collecting testimonies, and helping out with a leadership conference for worship leaders. Slum ministry has by far been my favorite ministry this month and on the Race. We have had such amazing times of prayer and worship in the slums. We have seen the Lord heal person after person after person. We have seen people walk who have been told they will never walk again, we have seen the blind regain their sight, and seen the Lord relieve people from all kinds of soreness and pain. We have seen people freed from addition, alcoholism, and depression. It has been truly amazing!
My other favorite part about this month was being completely surrounded by worship. I have fallen asleep to worship and woken up to worship. I have felt the peace of the Lord and the presence of the Lord so strongly. I came to India tired and worn out. Staying at Covenant School of Worship has been such a blessing. I will be leaving India refreshed and restored.
Intermission: My Time Home
Most of you know that I went home this month for my Grandmother’s funeral. My time home was such a blessing. I was able to visit with people and get some things I couldn’t get over seas. I was enjoyed a hot shower, washer and dryer, good coffee, Thanksgiving food, and even got a little bit of Christmas. I was able to see the Lord answer prayer I have been praying for years. It was such a blessed time.
Thank you all so much for prayers and condolences during this time. I felt so much love and support from each of you.
Lessons, Challenges, and Goals
This month has been full of ups and downs. My heart has been broken for the brothers and people in the slums battling addiction and depression and my heart has been so full of joy seeing the ways the Lord has brought freedom and healing to these same people. I have been amazed and shaken to the core by how much the Father loves us. I have experience so much of His love here personally and seen how His love has changed the hearts of so many people during our time here.
This month the Lord really placed healing on my heart. I want to see people set free and healed spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I want to see the chains of addiction and depression broken off every person. I want people to truly encounter the love of the Father and have their worlds and hearts completely changed by His love. This month I have been blessed to be apart of more than 10 healings. My goal for next month is to continue to bring the Lords healing and freedom to all we encounter.
Nepal
Next month my team will be working with a new ministry contact in Nepal. We will be mountain trekking in the Himalayas on the border of Tibet, going from village to village, sharing the Gospel. We could be trekking anywhere from several hours to several days. We will have a home base that we will be living and working out of between treks.
My team will also have the opportunity to partner with Team Renovate. We will live and do ministry with this team all moth long. I am both excited to get to visit different villages and to be able to work with team Renovate. Please be praying for my team and Team Renovate as we embark on this adventure.
I don’t think we will have very much internet next month at least on days where we are trekking. I will do my best to post blogs, pictures, and updates at least once a week.
Fundraising
I still have a little bit more support to raise before my next deadline, January 1, 2015. $3,129 to be exact.
You can help keep me on the Race by participating in my Fundraising Game. There are still many available numbers left. All you have to do is pick a number, go to my blog, and make an online donation for that amount by clicking the “Support Me” tab. If every number is taken I will be fully funded. I will post an updated version of my Fundraising Game to my blog, personal Facebook page, Jessica and the World Race Facebook page, and Instagram for all to see this week!
You can also make a one time or reoccurring donation my mailing in a check to Adventures in Missions at P.O. Box 742570 Atlanta GA 30374-2570 or by clicking the “Support Me” tab on my blog and making an online donation. Please make sure you write JESSICAJOHNSONRAVIN in the memo line of your check and make all checks out to Adventures in Missions to make sure that your donation gets into the right support account.
Thank you so much for all of your continued support and prayers. This trip would be impossible to do without you. I have so humbled by your investment in me. I continually pray that God blesses you all tremendously for your generosity.
Prayer
There are so many ways you can be praying for me and my team over the next month.
Please pray for safe travels as we travel to Nepal around trek through the mountains visiting different villages. Please pray for our health and that the Lord would protect us from sickness of any kind. Pray specifically against altitude sickness and any sickness we could contract from food or water. Please pray for the villages and the people we will be encountering. Pray that the Lord prepares and opens their heart to the Gospel and that they would encounter Him in a life changing way. Pray for my team to have eye and ears open to the spiritual and that Holy Spirit would give us discernment to sense spiritual environments. Pray that we would be able to carry the presence of God with us in way that draws and directs people to him. Please pray for spiritual protection for me and my team as well.
You prayers are so important. I have seen over and over again the power and effectiveness of prayer. I could not do any of this with all the prayer each of you has covered me in. Your prayers keep me healthy, protect me from the enemy, and allow me to step out in boldness and in confidence knowing the Lord goes before me and guards me from behind.
Thank you so much for all your prayers, your support, and encouraging words. Thank you for taking the time to read my posts, updates, and blogs. You don’t go unnoticed.
