For those of you wondering about what ministry will look like for this month I am happy to tell you that I finally have that information.
As some of you know the first week of our time in Albania has been mostly consumed with month 1 debrief. It was a time for our squad to process through the last month and get excited for this month.
So a few days ago we finally got to met the mysterious George, our host for the month who has been in the UK for a while. We have heard all kinds of things about George so I was excited to finally meet him to see if all the talk was true or not. It was true my friends and it is kind of really hilarious. George is a man with high expectations of us and doesn’t put up with any BS. He is a believer in hard work and doing the job right the first time. He is also a big believer in the word and getting into the word and knowing it in you heart. He has a huge heart for World Racers and investing in them. He may be a little rough around the edges but his heart is for us. I’m super excited to get to know him this month.
So ministry….
The name of the ministry this month is Lightforce. The vision of this ministry is to support camps. With that being said we will be helping to supervise and support the running of camps and activities while we are here. People from our squad will be working in the kitchen preparing meals for the camp, life guarding, supporting archery and rock climbing, supervising free time, helping on the farm, and helping with security of the camp. Our days will be starting at 6am and go until around 9pm. We will be helping with 2 or 3 camps while we are here. I am super excited about this because as I mentioned in my other blog I love camp.
At least for the first two camps I will be working on the kitchen/cleaning team. Our job is to help with food preparation, setting the dining room for meals, serving meals, cleaning up after meals and cleaning the bathroom/shower areas of the campers and World Racers. I will report to the Kitchen at 6am each morning and I will finish around 9pm or later each night depending on how long clean up takes after our last dinner shift. I am actually really excited to serve in this capacity this week.
Please be in prayer for me and my squad this week. Pray that The Lord will provide all the physical strength and energy needed to serve these campers whole heartedly and to serve Lightforce whole heartedly. While we won’t be directly preaching the Gospel pray for opportunities to share Jesus not only with our action but with our words this week. Pray for the campers and staff that will be coming in these next few weeks. Pray for the relationships that will built and that Jesus would shine through everything we do. Pray that each of us would find the time somewhere in the day to spend with The Lord so that we are spiritually filled for the day so that we can pour out everything we have to everyone we come in contact with this week. Pray for protection against the way the enemy will try to come in this week. Pray for our safety and the safety of all the campers from injury and sickness. I am so looking forward to this week and seeing The Lord move. Thank you so much for your prayers.
