Greetings from Gainesville, Georgia!!! I have finally had the chance to turn on my computer, sit down and write a quick update on my blog. Training camp has been AMAZING. I have finally met the 34 young men and women that I now call my family and I love each and every one of them. Because of the limited amount of free time while here, let me just give you some bullet points that I can later expand upon…
1. God is bigger than the box I have put him in.
2. I have ‘showered’ 2 times in 10 days. Shower=ice cold water hose
3. The Holy Spirit is alive, moving, powerful.
4. When you REALLY listen to what God tells you and then take action, you’ll always be blown away.
5. Breakfast on ‘Asia Day’ consisted of rice with dried anchovies and milk…one word about that: YUM.
6. I have carried my burdens and laid them at the foot of the cross
7. I’ve learned lots of new camping recipes such as how to make apple turnovers over an open flame as well as my favorite, hobo stew.
8. I’ve grieved & been delivered!
9. On one of our last nights here, we played a game simulating an underground church…I was a msisionary and then during my imprisonment I licked the bottom of my shoe. All kidding aside, it was an impactful simulation of the reality of the persecuted church around the world.
10. After days of staff observations, various team building games and a few one-on-one interviews, my small team has been finalized. My team consists of myself, Kimi, Luke, AJ, Cori and Erin. More on my team in a later blog!
