It’s been about 2 and a half weeks now since
I landed at LAX heading home to Georgia. You’d think after travelling around
the world for 11 months I’d be tired and want to go straight home, but I wasn’t
done yet.

I spent a couple days BY MYSELF, that’s right,
alone, solo, only me, with no one else near around except the pizza guy that
came once. I got to take some time to just really rest, get over jetlag, and
reflect a little on these last 11 months. After that I haven’t slowed down… I
went to visit my best friend, had my mom and sister visit me in Atlanta, then
set off for a week in Mississippi. After a great weekend in Statesboro, I’ve
finally returned to Brunswick, GA.

There are some questions that I’ve been asked
recently…

The infamous… “How was your trip?” Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how to
answer this question. I could sit down and talk for hours about my trip, things
that God taught me, people that I met, but for whatever reason when someone
asks me that question right off the bat, I’m literally stumped.  The one-second version, “It was the hardest
but best 11 months of my life!”

“What are you doing now?” Right now I
know that God has called me home to Brunswick, GA. One thing that I’ve learned
on the Race is that God gives me one step at a time because when I’ve been
given more I try to take things into my own hands and figure everything out on
my own. I can’t do that so the step I’ve been given right now is to be
intentional with my family and community that I have here. “For how long?” I know for certain until the end of the summer, but
after that I’m praying about the “next step.” I’m applying for jobs both here
and in the Atlanta area that allows me to use the gifts that the Lord has given
me, and the passion I have for missions.

“What was your favorite country?” Truth is this is probably the hardest question EVER! I’m going to
try to narrow it down though.

*I loved the
families that we were with in Ecuador and Peru. When we left there it felt as
if I was leaving my own family.

*Ministry in Bolivia was in my top 3. Deaf school and children’s
hospital.

*Scenery in
Albania was beautiful. Made me realize how much I truly missed living on the
coast.

            *Community in Romania was my
favorite!

*Ministry in
South Africa was in my top 3! Those kids at TLC orphanage stole my heart
forever!

            *God
taught me a lot about myself in Mozambique.

* God taught
me a lot about His promises and trust in Swaziland. Not to mention that the
view for our house was phenomenal!

            *Thailand overall favorite! Ministry,
location, and lessons learned!

*I loved the
family that we were with in Cambodia, as well as the other families that were
in the village.

*Last, but
not least, Malaysia. I loved ministries that month. Working in a girls’ home
and at a refugee school.

“Do you think that you’ll go back to any of the countries?” Absolutely!! My mom, being the wonderful mother and support she
is, asked me to pick a country that my heart just broke for and would love to
go back to because she wants to go with me. We will be planning a trip for next
summer. I’ll be sure to keep you updated with that. As far as going back and
living in one of the countries, I don’t think that God has called me to that
right now but who knows what could happen in a few years.

If you have any other questions, please feel
free to post them on here! Now that I have good Internet and my own laptop I
will be able to respond quickly

Thank you so much for all of your
prayers and support on this journey that God led me on.
