Well hello and welcome to my blog!
I can't say that I am much of a "blogger", but let's see what we can do…. So I think I am supposed to tell you a little bit about myself here. Well I am 28 years old and grew up in Meridian, Ms. I got a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Mississippi State University in 2006 and now I live about an hour and half from my hometown in Jackson, Ms and work in a hospital here. I do a lot of diet teaching for people with diabetes, cardiac disease, that type of thing.
I was valedictorian of my high school class, Lamar School Class of 2002, but you would never know it if you met me now lol.
I didn't necessarily grow up going to church, we didn't start going regularly until I was about 12 so I kinda missed the vacation bible school, little church plays era but that's ok. My parents are still at this same church which is really spirit filled and I am grateful for that background. Shout out to The Evangel Temple! I am doubly blessed to have found another totally awesome church here in my new city and have had tremendous spiritual growth and made some incredible friendships at Pinelake Church.
I have about the best family you could ask for. My parents have always been there for me despite actions of pure ignorance in the past and love me for me and all my flaws.
Besides Jesus of course, my nephew and my kitty cat are my heart 🙂
Romans 8:28- "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This verse has seen me through some ups and downs. Sometimes you just have to stop and catch a breath and remind yourself, all things…. all things…
A couple of my favorite things are MSU bulldog football, Mexican food and fried catfish (yes I love fried catfish even though I am a dietitian, I am still from Mississippi haha), and escaping with my Ipod.
On a typical weekend you can find me either doing some service work with the church, just chillin with my family, going out to eat and run my mouth with some friends, or anywhere near some water.
