Jambo!

In case you haven’t been following along: I’M IN AFRICA!!!!

Nakuru, Kenya to be precise.
It is gorgeous-cool weather, a nice rain very afternoon to cool it off
again just as it starts to get hot.
We’re situated directly on the equator, but in high elevation in the
Rift Valley.

Lake Nakuru National Reserve can be seen as we drive into
the city, and sometime this month we’re going to fork over the cash to see the
wildlife they boast: flamingos, lions, giraffes, rhinos, and lots of other
animals.

Our family is incredible. We’re living in half of a duplex,
and the family moved in next door to be closer to us.  Reverend Ayub and his wife, Reverend Ruth
(who insists that we call her “mama”) are passionate Christians, and it’s a joy
to be around them.  They’ve really
adopted us into their family, which already consisted of two children (Timothy,
6, and Tiffany, 3).  It’s fantastic to be
a part of a family so far away from home, and they’ve definitely made us feel
like we’re at home.

Our ministry consists of a rather large repertoire: we clean
the church when it needs it, we pick up and move rocks, clean up trash, chip
dirt off windows.  We visit school
classrooms, bible studies, church services, feedings.  We evangelize, preach, teach, sing (though
not very well…my team got the short end of that stick!)

Mom and Dad, I feel very safe here, especially where we’re
living, so no worries.

Malaria has overtaken many on my squad, and team, so pray
against that for those of us who haven’t gotten it yet, and pray for speedy
recovery for those who do have it!

God’s pretty awesome, and we’re enjoying our
time doing His will here in Africa!

And we saw zebra’s. in the wild.  Pictures will be posted when I have time and internet capacity!
