When I was first accepted into the World Race I had no idea how I was going to raise this money. The amount of $15,500 seemed so overwhelming, and quite honestly still is. But god says in Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God is really working at me through all of this. I constantly think about John 15 where Jesus talks about the Vine and the Branches. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”
God is pruning me and it has become so evident to me. I see clearer now as to who I am in regards to Him. I am His child. His lost and hurting child. I can do NOTHING without Him and His mercy and grace. And when I really started paying attention to His pruning me; observing my sin and experiencing His love and forgiveness triumph over all else. I can do nothing but acknowledge God in all His glory for what He has done through this trip thus far. And to know we still have the 11 months to go?!?!?
And I said this before, this fundraising wasn’t about me or my endeavors, but it is about me taking a leap into faith and falling head first into God’s plan. Because there is no other way to explain how this trip, after 4 short months, my trip is fully funded! God is Good!
I want to personally thank everyone who has given thus far towards my World Race trip whether it is prayfully or financially. God has made this dream in to a reality. Surely, this is where God wants me to be! It is such a blessing to have such support from friends and family. Over 135 people gave to this journey. "You may say to yourself, 'My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.' But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which He swore to your forefathers, as it is today" (Deuteronomy 8:17-18).
Acknowledge the Lord as the provider of every need you have today. He is faithful and provides in His time.
