One thing that I have noticed that I have been doing is placing limits on God. I think “that’s too much to ask God for” or “I am embarrassed to ask this of Him”. I limit God’s power and tell Him he cannot give me what I need. And what I’ve realized I’m doing is allowing the guilt and shame that have ruled my life to once again rule my relationship with Christ.
I put limits on myself therefore I put limits on him. However, as it states in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I often hesitate to receive God’s gifts with an open heart and hands because I don’t feel I deserve it. But that is where God’s grace abounds. We DO deserve God’s gifts and he is LIMITLESS!!!
I believe all of us, as followers of Christ, have to live in this practice daily about living in God’s Limitless power. Trusting him at all times and KNOW that he can do all things and that through him WE can do ALL things.
