There are so many times God has blessed us on this journey that we stop and ask “why?”. We definitely don’t deserve this yet, here we are with an opportunity to indulge in this awesomeness handed to us by Him. This month has definitely proved to be an ongoing misunderstanding of how we ended up so blessed in our placement at Lasting Impressions.
Our hosts were given an opportunity to go check out a new Game Ranch to bring future clientele about 2 hours away from their property. They decided to make a family vacation out of it with another family and invited us to join them absolutely free! After getting over the shock and allowing the excitement to set in we were in awe of Gods goodness for answering all of our prayers to see African wildlife!
We pulled up to our campsite where we would be spending the next 2 nights and once again were completely blown away that we were being given this blessing for free. We stayed in traditional mud chalets, each of the 6 were accommodated with beds, pillows, and so many comfortable blankets. We had 3 western toilets and regular showers that had hot water. The fully equipped kitchen was attached to a large family room and dining area that led out to an open area with a large above ground fire pit next to a tree where bush babies would hang out at night!
This Game Ranch spreads over 80,000 acres so we knew there was a likelihood we wouldn’t see much wildlife as we had 3 days to explore and there was a ton of area we just wouldn’t make it too. Like most things on the Race we kept our expectations low yet, God out did Himself as usual. We were blessed to see:
Sabel, Lilac Breasted Roller birds, Zebra, Giraffe, Impala, a Koribustard bird (rare to see), Black Rhino (very rare to see), Warthogs, Wildbeests, Reid Buck (rare to see), Kudu, Diker, Fish Eagle, Glossy starlings birds, Triple Bandit Plevor birds, Bush Babies, Baboons, Monkeys, Mongoose, and other African wildlife as well.
It was an experience we will remember and cherish forever. We are so grateful to our hosts for including us in their family so selflessly.
