saturaday started off with me getting up at 5am. i was going to go up to the cross with abner and anyone else who got up to go. about 7 or 8 blocks away from the coffee shop there are steps that lead up to a huge cross and it over looks all of antigua. you can also see the two volcanos from there. so abner, me, matt and clay set out around 5:30.
we got up to the top and it was still kind of dark. i tried to take some pictures, but they wouldnt come out. but then the sun started to come up and it was so beautiful. our God is so amaizing. the sunrise was amazing. the sun would hit the volcanos and i just watched them turn colors. we hung out there for a while just admiring the Lords creation. then we all headed back. i of course went back to sleep for a while.
around 10am a bunch of people came to the coffee shop and we all headed to a park. wehn we got there we climbed up a mountain…..nothing compared to the volcano. then after that we hung out at the pool.
the guys went to play soccer and the girls just hung out. we all got pretty red. later that night a few of us went to go see some live music. but when it started to many people were up at the front dancing so we couldnt see them playing. no good.
sunday laura, megan and i went to church at the spanish church. we sat behind a lady who was dancing. it was awsome until she pulled out one of those ribbons attached to a stick to dance with. normally that is really pretty except for we were sitting right behind her. im pretty sure she didnt see us…at least i hope she didnt see us. laura was hit twice and i got hit in the face once. it was really funny and made it hard to concentrate. thank the Lord she only used it for one song.
later that night we were out in orange and she wouldnt start. we went to mcdonalds to get a mcflurry and were going to take some girls home. we ended up having to go to the fire department to get help. abner and i got to ride in a fire truck. well..it was kind of a fire truck. it was a lot smaller than normal. it was only the battery and today we got it charged again.
after we hung out at the hospital today the girls went to a free salsa class. it was so much fun. the instructor made me get up and dance with him in front of everyone. lots of people. it was awful. other than that the class was great. we are going back tomorrow.
