I am currently living in Abilene, TX where I was born and raised. I have lived outside of Abilene for only a short while before the Lord called me back. I grew up in church and was always a part of the youth group. However, I didn’t actually accept the Lord as my Savior until I was I was 17. My new life did not last very long, however I quickly turned away and began drinking and doing drugs.
The Lord graciously called me back and told me that He had a plan for my life and that He wanted to use me. He called me to the mission field about 2 years ago. After that I started going out with a group called Jesus Crew that goes out and shares the gospel around Abilene. I knew though that the Lord was going to call me to go somewhere else. He told me though that He was going to grow me here in Abilene first.
Through that ministry I met my best friend and mentor. I have walked with her for the past two years and she has helped me grow in my relationship with Jesus. We both have a heart for missions, but we thought that the Lord was going to call us to different places. We were wrong.
I had been praying and asking the Lord where He was going to send me. I prayed for an opportunity to see the World and for Him to show me where He was calling me. Then my friend told me about World Race. I said let’s go. So we went home and prayed about it….a lot and I know that this is what the Lord is calling me to. I pray that through this I will know where He wants me to go permanently.
I have a heart for children, but most of all I just want people to know about my Jesus and His love for them and that He has a plan for them. And it blows me away to know that He is going to use me to tell His children that.
