Day 83: I spent the majority of the day editing video. In the afternoon we left on our trek to Nature’s Valley (7 hours away) to go bungee jumping for our day off. The weekend was full of crazy provision. Our rental cars fell through – we ended up with a private bus. We were hungry with no money – and a man we met in a train station provided enough free food to feed 10 people. For more on the story of God’s provision in numerous ways read my blog “Blessings in Abundance.”

Day 84: After a long drive though the night, we arrived at the Bloukrans Bridge (the 3rd tallest in the world) and slept in the parking lot for a few hours. At 11:15a, I jumped off the bridge and fell 720 feet where I hung safely from my ankles. In total, 18 World Racers made the leap and joined only a few thousand people who can say they have survived the tallest bungee bridge in the world. Click Here to see a video of my bungee jump!

Day 85: Prince (the man from the bus station) picked six of us up in the morning for church. During the service we were called up front and the pastor prayed over us. Afterward we were called into his office and we were blessed by an envelope filled with money (enough to double our food budget for the week). In the evening, we attended a prayer/worship service at Hillsong Church.

Day 86: In the morning we went out to pray for people we met on the streets around town. Matt and I spent the afternoon filming (footage from around Muizenburg and at the soccer ministry).

Day 87: My morning was consumed with video editing. In the afternoon I made a trip to Fish Hook (several miles down the coast) with a few of the girls to get visa photos taken. Ann and I decided to walk home and on the way stopped by a cemetery. Many of the graves were for children, a sad reality of being born into poverty in a 3rd World country.

Day 88: I spent the entire day editing video. However, I did take a short break to walk down to the beach and happened to meet a baby seal.

Day 89: I sat at a small cafe in the morning editing video. After lunch Matt and I went out to find the street kids to get the footage we needed for our intro to the video. We ended up hanging out with them for most of the afternoon and treated them to hamburgers and ice cream. In the evening, we had a squad worship night.

Day 90: In the morning we went on an adventure to find penguins and then we spent the rest of the day editing the video. At dinner, Matt and I went to find the street kids and brought them back to the hostel where we gave them dinner, clothes and blankets. After dinner we went to the night market for desert.

Day 91: I traveled to Worcester with my team leader Sara to visit the town she worked in when she lived in South Africa. I spent the day with her South African family and we went to the township to pray for some of her students.

Day 92: Spent the morning packing, by 1p we were out of the hostel and moved across Cape Town to a large house we are staying in with our entire squad for two days for our mini-debrief (the nice way of saying team changes). In the evening our new squad-leaders (Nick & Christin) were raised up and Team H.O.P.E. spent one last night together down at the beach.

Day 93: Squad worship in the morning, followed by the announcement of our new teams. My team leader and I were kept together and we were join by 4 other amazing women! We believe that we are bold and strong and that Abba is calling us to be his song to the nations – thus the name of my new team is “Sound of Strength.”

Day 94: The final day of our mini-debrief. We spent the day as a squad, growing in community and continuing to bond with our new teammates. In the evening, a large group of us went to the beach to watch the sunset. Off to Mozambique in the morning!
