Day 27: Up until this point I had been plagued by a cough since leaving the United States. After the addition of a 3-day migraine I finally made a trip to the doctor. In the evening we hosted the Youth Olympics at the church. P.S. the South China Sea was beautiful this day!

Day 28: We had our normal Saturday routine (doing outreach with children in 5 different communities). One of the communities, the Manyan Tribe, makes a living creating beautiful baskets.

Day 29: Church in the morning. I had children clinging to me throughout the entire service. In the evening we hosted the championship round for the Youth Olympics.

Day 30: In the morning I made a trip into town to print photos I had been taking of the kids all month. I made a photo booklet for Arpul. In the evening we were surprised by a visit from Team Rescued Identity (Dusty, Matt, Jen, Val, Kristen, and Amaris)…they traveled several hours to see us! We all went out to White Beach for the nightlife and then we went for a late night swim in the sea!

Day 31: Hiked back to the waterfall with Team Rescued Identity. In the afternoon, Sara and I spent over 2 hours at Lisa’s house getting to know her while she put thread wraps in our hair. We were able to pray a blessing over her family before we left.

Day 32: We spent most of the day flattening dirt under the new huts. As usual, Raquel outworked all of us. Right after lunch Joshua and Megan (our squad leaders) arrived! In the evening we had our weekly prayer service at the church. Francis and I led worship. After the service, we hung out with the students for a while. I was able to get this picture with Reggie and Jon Jon (we all think he looks like Justin Beiber).

Day 33: We spent the morning clearing dead brush (which included several large tree trunks) away from the new huts. After lunch I fell asleep in a hammock and woke up to 3 boys laying on top of me. Ann Fell asleep with Mui Mui.

Day 34: This was our last day off in Puerto Galera. We decided to spend it out enjoying the beauty of God’s creation and rented a boat to take us snorkeling. We also had lunch at a great Italian Resturant!

Day 35: In the morning, Ann and I discovered a litter of puppies hiding under a porch. In the afternoon (while we were out doing our outreach in the 5 communities) Pastor Al took us on a special trip to the top of the mountain where we could overlook the entire island.

Day 36: Our last day in Puerto Galera. Lots of the kids wrote us letters (some even wrote messages to us on their hands). We had church in the morning (Francis and I led worship again). We said goodbye to all of our new friends and then made the 5 hour trek (via Trike, Boat, Bus, and Van) back to Kim International Ministries in Manila.
