Why not???? I mean come on… how many times in your life do you get the chance to travel around the world  with 35 of your closest friends, and the sole focus is spreading the love of Jesus to every single person possible? The answer…NOT MANY! Mission work has been on my heart for as long as I can remember and the World Race has provided me with the perfect opportunity at EXACTLY the right time in my life.

Others: God calls us to be servants, and I know in the past I have just focused on what was going on in MY life or what kind of issues I had. It’s time for me to focus on OTHERS and not myself. It’s time for me to focus on what God wants me to be doing instead of whatI think I should be doing.

Reason: People keep asking me, “Why exactly are you doing this?” My reason and simple answer is: JESUS!

Love: It’s time for the nations to feel not only the love we can give as missionaries, but His love from above. I know along with J.O.Y., we can bring love to those who desperately need it. Sometimes…”All you need is Love.” 😉

Desire: I have desired for as long as I remember “to make a difference in the world,” as cliché as it may sound. Sound a little corny?….Yes…. but I think we ALL desire to make a difference in someone else’s life how big or small it may be. It’s innate in us as humans to want to affect our environment and the people around us in a positive way.

Rare: Opportunities like this are rare and sometimes only come once in lifetime. Sometimes you just have to cast all doubt and fear aside and jump right in.

Aggies: That’s right…I had to throw them in to this blog somewhere! JThe people that I met and spent time with at Texas A&M have truly helped mold me into the person I am today. All experiences good AND bad have brought me to the point where I am today. I had the MOST amazing experiences in college…some I will NEVER forget and some I WISH I could forget! But I believe that all of them have prepared me for this journey that I will soon be embarking in.

Crazy: I think we all have to have a little “crazy” in us to partake in such an adventure. God has given us this trait for a reason and I don’t think any of us would be here without it! J

Edquist: My family: my mom, dad, and two brothers are an integral piece of the puzzle of “Why I am going on the World Race.” From Luke 12:48 and repeated to me by my father growing up, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” Well… it’s time to “man up” if you will, and use what the Lord has given me to glorify Him and His Kingdom in ways He only knows possible. My family has instilled this value in me and I hope to make them proud over the next 13 months.
