Here are 2 videos that my teammates made on our time in Swaziland.Our month in Nsoko was spent among the orphans, women and gogos, learning to live with them and love them where they are. There are dozens
of stories about these beautiful people who have captured my heart. The second video is about the women’s retreat we put on for the gogo’s. For one weekend, the women of Nsoko came together to
share their lives of pain and open up to each other in an unprecedented
way. These are the widows, the gogos who care for the many orphans, and the people who hold this community together. Many of them were in their late sixties and have never before left their small village until that weekend. Listen to their stories and see the God-given beauty of spirit
that comes from their ashes of pain. Based on the verse Isaiah 61:3,
“To bestow on them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead
of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair.”
