One of the last nights of final debrief our squad all fit into a room with candles lit, Brant and Michelle up front leading worship, and the first night it it began hitting me we were going home. As Brant strummed the guitar I closed my eyes and listened to the beautiful voices of our squad. We joke about many on our squad having horrible voices but tonight It was amazing to sit and listen to the beauty of all our voices together.
As cheesy as it may sound, with all our voices raised I saw a picture of Jesus looking down on all of us saying, ¨well done, good and faithful servants.¨ I know that this experience has really allowed me to be so thankful for my friends and family back home. The ones I left before the Race. The support and friendships I have really are incredible. So thanks to all of you..But tonight I was reminded about all of my L Squad friends/family. We all came from different parts of the country, we have totally different backgrounds, different personalities, different ages yet we have one thing it common. Jesus. And the crazy 11 months we spent together.
I began crying when I remembered the countries we have been to and that we have been through laughs, tears, near death experiences, miracles, struggles, our funniest moments, crazy adventures, too much to put into words. We have gotten so close we know each others routines when we wake up in the morning, we know what annoys one another, what makes us happy, when to speak and when to shut up..we know a lot about each other. Some of us have been together 24_7 for 11 whole months. Now to think that is not the case anymore…yeah it kind of scares me.
This past year I have met some of the most loving, real, genuine, selfless servants, inspiring and encouraging people. As we all end up going back to the states, working, moving to different countries, or whatever it is…don´t ever forget this past year and each person that has one way or another shaped your life. I know that each person on my squad has molded me into who I am today…I wouldn´t be the same without you…so thank you each one for changing my life. When times are rough, maybe not going as planned, or you feel alone..remember you´re not. We all understand, we´ve been there together. We´re family now.
Thank you and love all of you….Oh, and if you´re ever on the west coast..please please come visit!!!! But really =)
Oh, and I am in Spain safe and sound with my family, since I am sure you´re all wondering. I didn´t sleep at all on the second flight. With a couple days of no sleep I got there, ate lunch, had a coffee and then went out on the town in Madrid with some of the family. It didn´t start getting dark until about 10pm. Didn´t go to bed until 1AM. Wow, I am going to have to get used to the life here.

SO HAPPY TO HAVE ALL OF YOU IN MY LIFE.
