At our recent debrief in Brasov, Romania, ouR squad leaders challenged us to write a Psalm to God.  This is what came from my heart. ~

“Praise be to the holy one of Israel; who took the sins of the world upon His blameless back.  When I consider His sacrifice, I cannot comprehend it. That you, Lord, suffered and died for hearts that reject You, do not see Your priceless worth, despise Your wisdom and guidance.  Don't let my heart be foolish.  Teach me in Your secret stillness even when my heart does not understand Your path.  Teach me Your righteous and blameless ways.

Who can know the extent of Your faithfulness?  If I live in it all my days, I would only begin to know its shallow places.  You have saved my life from the pit….from the conscious hell of living bound to my ignorant bliss.  Surely Your ways are better than the purest gold.  They preserve my life and extend its days.

When I sit in the presence of my enemies, You are there. You set the table before us. You are my shield and armor. You keep my heart in perfect stillness and peace as You battle for my honor. Your love, affection and intimacy take away all my fear. You restore my life in pure joy and make me know wholeness and freedom that can never be taken away.

Love, joy, peace and patience guard my ways. With a whisper or touch of Your hand, You gently correct me and I choose to walk in Your path. What could be better? What can ever compare to Your presence? You have redeemed my life from the pit and I can never look back.

I have tasted and seen that You are good and I have resolved that I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Your plans are good and sufficient for me…..even overflowing. You meet me in my weakness and strengthen my heart. You are worthy of all of me; my husband, my God, my king."
