Tuesday September 6th
My parents drove me to Atlanta International airport and said bittersweet good-byes. This was the first meeting spot for my World Race squad. However we would not fly out today. We spent a few days in Gainesville, Ga. Praying and preparing for our journey.

This is all our packs in the airport as we all said our hellos and waited for the Adventures In Missions bus to pick us up

Then a 2hr school bus ride to Gainesville, Ga. All our packs piled in the back.

We were blessed to sleep in this church for the four days leading up to launch.

The community we stayed in was mostly mexican food and culture with a chicken processing plant and train tracks near by.

Our first meal here TACOS. We ate tacos, burritos, chicken, and rice for the four days here. Our team (Ladies of Light) is on a spending budget. The people in this town were very generous and the prices were super budget friendly.

Ladies of Light do some Grocery Shopping and picnic lunch one day. We ate bologna sandwhiches, yogurt, and fruit. Change it up from the mexican food and saved some money at the same time.

My squad of 44 all slept together on the floor of the church each night. This is Wendy and I…

We had time in the morning to journal, read our bibles, and exercise. Most of the days here were spent talking with one another. We heard from a few World Race Alumni who spoke some words of inspiration as well.

Wendy & I gathered up all the Ladies of  Light's clothes we had worn for the few days there and did some laundry. So we could all travel with clean clothes the next day for launch.

Last morning (Friday, Sept 9th) we had worship outside early in the morning and then packed up all our things. We payed for the people of this community and asked for safety and blessings during our journey. Ill post a blog about my "Launch to The Philippines" experience next when I have time and internet.

Thank you for following me
