The rain continued and got really intense. GOD knew what he was doing. We moved out of the hostel and back to KIM (Kids International Ministries) after the news of Wendy's mom. We didn't have Internet but we had a safe dry place to stay and home cooked meals with dessert. We spent the last few days praying, doing bible study, and watching movies. It has been a good time of rest, bonding, and comforting each other. The rains really kicked up during that first night. I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking …this is a Hurricane!!! The wind and rain were strong and debris was randomly hitting the roof and my mind was back in the cemetery and the dump. If I was having a hard time sleeping I can only imagine what the people of the cemetery and the dump were experiencing this night. All their homes were shacks built by miscellaneous trash. All I could do was pray. The next day everyone was saying it was a typhoon it lasted all day and night again. The Internet was down and not being able to update everyone back home was frustrating. However we woke this morning to the headlines about the typhoon and knew we were in GODs hands. The hostel and the area we had been staying at before was flooded waist deep. Wendy will go home in a few days and hopefully return soon. I am now eager to get back to the dump. A lot of those families lost their homes and are now living in the church. However the Filipino people are resilient and joyful always.
