I don’t know much about Voodoo. In fact I know pretty much nothing and I think I’d like to keep it that way. I do know, though, that the country of Haiti is being held in spiritual bondage to the religion of Voodoo.
While in Haiti, my teams was pretty sheltered and didn’t get to see much of the cities or towns and so were not exposed to any voodoo happenings going on at the time or see any major spiritual warfare on the field. We did, however, see some of the results of voodoo rituals among the children of the orphanage.
We were informed that one voodoo ritual involves cutting the muscle above the eyebrow out of a child, cooking it, and offering it to a family as a blessing. Many of the children used in this ritual are street kids or orphans. We met a few kids at the orphanage that definitely had scars above their eyebrows and we assume that is what it is from.
I believe that these children are not only left with physical scars, but emotional and spiritual as well. Please pray that these children receive healing from all these wounds; that they are told about Christ and His healing touch. I believe He is the only one who can set them free from any bondage they have been trapped into as a result of this demonic influence. Pray that true life is taught and spread throughout Haiti.
