Phnom Penh is not a very clean city in most places.  The streets can be covered in soot and garbage at times.  We get to then walk on it.  The culture norm here, though, is to always take off your shoes when entering someone’s house or office so it is easiest to wear flip-flops or sandals.  Your feet inevitably get very dirty in these.  Here are the before and after my shower photos of my feet on a typical day.  Just thought I’d share that with you!
