My team had the privilege of working alongside a missionary couple from Chile this last month in Monkey Bay, Malawi.  We were blessed immensely by this couple who let us stay in their home and share in their day to day lives.  The couple is blessed with a beautiful home on the shore of lake Malawi.  Their back door literally is right on the beach.  It is a gorgeous view and the sunrise over the lake every morning is amazing.

While it is called Monkey Bay, there are few monkeys around due to the locals killing and eating most of them…or so the story goes.  We did see a few here and there, though.  Supposedly there are no alligators near their home, but I heard rumors about a nearby hippo.  I never saw it, though they told me I heard it one night when we were watching the stars.  Which, by the way, I love getting the opportunity to see the southern hemisphere stars…I have never seen them before.  I wish, though, that I were able to pick out the constellations, but sadly i know nothing about them.

I will start sharing more stories about the month in Malawi, but I want to preface it by saying, that none of the pictures (including the ones on here are my own.  They are all taken from traveling websites.  At the moment I can’t upload my own pictures, but will try to get some to you soon.  I also, though, have a story I will share later about my pictures…sadly I don’t have as many as I should!  I do say, though, that these pictures are pretty close to what we saw…and are really from Malawi…so I hope they help you to understand more about where we lived for a month!
