San Juan is a city bustling with activity. Open markets full of people selling, trading and buying. A few cars and tons of motorcyles are constantly speeding down the streets. It´s also a very loud city. Music is blasted from houses, cars, and stores. Children roam the streets filling them with the sounds of baseball, futbol and laughter.
I get the privilege to walk through this city, past the busyness and noise into the countryside. Its like stepping back in time. We follow dirt paths past a little river and some rice and bean fields to a little farming community. The landscape is beautiful. There are palm trees and the fields with amazing mountains in the background.
The people are incredible. They have so little and yet seem so content. And they are so kind and hospitable, sharing what little they have. We get to sit and drink espresso shots with this wonderful couple that has been married for 55 years. We get to play games and run around with kids. And we get to serve these people by painting, toting water and showing them God´s love.
Many of these people know about God, but they don´t know that they can have a personal relationship with Him. Join me in praying for their hearts and minds to be open and for team Tikvah as we share the hope of the gospel with them.
